The Karnataka Assembly Polls 2023 campaign will come to an end today, as per an announcement from New Delhi.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released a notice to all political parties, cautioning them against publishing any advertisement in the print media on the polling day or one day before it, unless the contents are pre-certified by the MCMC committee at the State/District level.
The ECI reminded the local media publications of the norms of the Press Council of India, and warned political parties against publishing offending and misleading advertisements in the print media, as such actions would vitiate the election process.
The ECI has called for a clean and serious campaign for the Karnataka Assembly elections, which will take place on May 10, with vote counting scheduled for May 13.
